\@C11║\@\@F11 Index Format Conventions \@
\@170─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
\i\i 1. Entry descriptions must end with a comma or space.
\i\i The program starts recognizing page citations after
\i\i encountering a comma or space. You select either
\i\i the space or comma method when building the
\i\i document's binary index. The method chosen must be
\i\i used consistently throughout the index list.
\i\i 2. The initial text -- to the first space or comma, or to
\i\i a maximum of 25 characters -- will be stored in the
\i\i search variable to be used by the "F7=Find" function on
\i\i return to the document. Phrase searches can be used
\i\i by exchanging the spaces between the words of a phrase
\i\i with the extended character code "decimal 255". This
\i\i extended code displays as a space while enabling the
\i\i program to recognize and treat it uniquely.
\i\i 3. If the first character of the description is a number
\i\i it must be preceded by a period and space to be used as
\i\i descriptive text. See the paragraph citation topic
\i\i below for more information.
\i\i 4. Enhanced text commands should be used to signal comment
\i\i lines and alphabetical headings. These lines should
\i\i contain an enhanced text indication at the beginning
\i\i of the line. When a normal display is desired, cancel
\i\i the enhanced indication by using two commands in a row.
\@C11║\@\@F11 Paragraph Citations \@
\@170─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
\i\i You may use paragraph numbers to locate keywords in a
\i\i document when the document's text includes paragraph numbers.
\i\i The paragraph citations must appear in the index preceded
\i\i by a leading period followed by one or more spaces.
